New N:Era

 N:Era 3rd Chapter was released yesterday. 

 On Wednesday I forgot I should upload. And on Friday I was like, "Welp, here goes everything." N:Era's 3rd part "Time Cast a Spell" is now out. Only 5 more left. 

Yes since book one and two had eight parts, I'm sure this one will as well. May make that a theme, giving an appropriate pacing. 8 is how I think of my stories. 

Statis/Initiative - the plot starts. 

First plot point - characters are wrapped in the plot. 

Pinch point - characters experience the beginning of trouble.

Halfway point - something reverses the world. 

Refresh - everything shifts. 

Third point - The finale is prepared, everyone's gonna go warring. 

Climax - All lies are revealed in this part. 

Climatic Point and Resolution - The finale and end of the road for N:Era. 

 I feel like dividing the chapters up in how I naturally see everything just makes the most sense. Obviously I will be writing way longer stories such as Owlis: Fall of Dragons, but perhaps even that will be divisible by 8ths.

Quantity Over Quality

 So I'm not entirely happy with the most recent N:Era chapter. I feel like this rushes things along a bit. However, I do want to stick to a stricter schedule going on forward, and I feel like this can prevent me from overworking. I think accepting where the chapter is right now is the best choice. 

There's a tale about these pottery students. The teacher judged one class on their ability to make many at once, and then another on their ability to make them as best as possible each time. The ones who got best were the ones making them like crazy because practice makes perfect. They began getting the idea by simply working until, well, something worked. Quantity over quality is a pretty hard position for most. Many have romantic notions of working for years and years.

But being real here, no chapter of N:Era is ever perfect. And the few pieces that are wonderful, are only because there's plenty where I didn't put full effort. Even MLP has not good episodes, even Spongebob has low points. 

 Screw you, name a show as good as Spongebob on a regular basis.

N:Era Off the Tracks Release

 N:Era Off the Tracks is getting released tonight. I feel like I should explain the creation and idea. 

Off the Tracks was thought of as the bridge between Where We Lie and Fangs of Liberty. The essential problem is having a standalone story that also links with the finale. Several plot points, some major, have been rewritten.

However, I can say a draft of every chapter was done before I submitted the first. The goal is uploading every seven days so that each wednesday there will be a chapter. 

In some ways, I feel like I'm looking more at the horizon than at the obstacle ahead. Off the Tracks does deserve as much effort as every N:Era prior. But the looming spectre of Fangs of Liberty remains. The Finale of the Cycle. The Season finale.

Off the Tracks will be in eight parts like the rest.
